How to Get the Most Out of Your Home Security Mobile App

It was not so very long ago that home security systems were very hands-on. As in, exclusively hands-on. You would have to remember to walk to the keypad each morning and disarm it before opening the door to let the animals out or to go sip coffee and read the paper on the patio. Not doing so resulted in waking and terrifying the entire neighborhood. At night, you would go through the process of locking all the window and doors, fall down in your bed exhausted from a long day and then wake suddenly remembering you forgot to arm the system. Worst of all, you rush off to work late and after an hour of traffic remember that you never armed the system.

Thankfully, Those Days are Gone

It is a good thing that those days are long gone. Today, home security is smart, mobile, and totally on the go. But to get most of mobile control and your home security app, you need to know of all of its incredible capabilities.

Arming and Disarming Your System

Okay, this might be the obvious feature advantage but let’s get more specific. Having mobile control means far more than being able to arm the system from bed… or from your work. It means being able to provide access to family or friends without having to rush home, or letting in service professionals without having to give out keys. That’s added security and convenience.

Control Your Home from Anywhere

Another great thing about mobile security, is it is not just about arming or disarming your system. You can also access all of the enabled points of your home and do everything from opening and closing the garage, unlocking and locking doors, to turning off and on enabled devices. And don’t worry—if you find yourself turning off and on lights just for fun, you would not be the only person who has ever done that.

Geofencing is Awesome

We all love to be welcomed home, right? Now our home can do that for us. With geofencing, the home senses your proximity via the app and can respond with a series of triggers, such as opening the garage, unlocking doors, disarming the system, adjusting the temperature, turning on the television, and have coffee brewing. When you leave, it can automatically turn off the HVAC, lights, and electronics and arm the system when you leave the set proximity. It can also send notification to your phone when the kids get home, so you always know they made it home safely.

Get Organized

We can all benefit from a schedule, right? With mobile control, you can create schedules to fit different days of the week, seasons, or any other situation—then put any in motion with a simple tap on your screen.

Video Verification from Your Mobile Phone
If there is an alarm event, you can verify if the activity is a false or real alarm. Not only does it take the guesswork out, it makes responding to the event safer for law enforcement.
